Hey there JamChallengers! We're back with a brand-new community challenge for October!
Our community members were busy on Discord and decided that this month's challenge should be special - so be it!
🏆The theme: #SpooktoberChallenge
After gathering all the suggestions for songs from the community, the decision was to keep the challenge flexible and consider valid all proposed songs to keep it fun.
That means whether you’re into spooky Halloween vibes 🎃, timeless rock classics 🎸, or creative reinterpretations, you’ll find your place here.
👉 Choose your inspiration from the following 9 classics:
Bad Moon Rising - Creedence Clearwater Revival
Highway to hell - AC/DC
Hell's bells - AC/DC
In the Hall of the Mountain King - Grieg
La Llorona - Hispano-American folk song
Remember Me - from Disney's Coco
The Phantom of the Opera - Andrew Lloyd Webber, Sarah Brightman, Steve Harley
Toccata - Bach
Zombie - The Cranberries
Important note: these are just for inspiration, you can replicate any kind of interpretation (e.g. for the Phantom of the Opera, Nightwish made a legendary interpretation) OR come up with your own touch.
Minimum requirement: have at least a 15 second fragment played on your instrument (or voice) adjusted to your skill level from a part you love most (intro, outro, rhythm, solo, chorus, verse).
🎶Who can join?
Everyone! The challenge is open for all our community members regardless of:
Instruments: any instrument or voice woks (e.g. piano, guitar, bass, violin, drums, sax, flute, cello, Irish pipes, marimbas - you name it)
Skill levels: beginner, intermediate or advanced - just adjust the interpretation to your level to keep it fun for everyone.
Whether you're just starting out or you've been playing for years, our challenges are designed to be inclusive and fun (including this one)!
📅Timeline
Start date: October 1st - the challenge is officially open!
Submission deadline: October 30th - last day to post your recordings.
Voting period: October 31th - community members vote inside Discord to decide the winners.
Winners announced: October 31st - around midnight 🎃(perfect timing!).
🚀 How to join
Join our Discord community, if you haven't already => https://www.jamchallenged.com/getting-started
In our Discord community, find the channel of interest depending on your instrument and skill level. These are structured based on instrument and skill level (e.g. piano-beginner, piano-intermediate, piano-advanced).
Can't find your instrument? You must have a very cool one! All other instrument interpretations can be posted under the misc-beginner, misc-intermediate and misc-advanced channels.
Once you found your channel (e.g. piano-beginner), check to see if there is already an open challenge with what you want to play.
If there a challenge you click with, join it and simply reply to the post with a link from youtube with your recording.
If there a challenge doesn't exist yet, you can create it yourself by opening a new post AND replying to that post with a link from youtube with your recording. If you need any support, DM JamChallengedAdmin directly for help.
